[Opinions] Re: "American" names according to a name book of mine
in reply to a message by Caprice
What a strange perspective your book gives.
I wouldn't be surprised if they were the names of Americans, but to say that they characterize "American names" is very misleading.
I've met:
Bear
Wray
Ionia
Darah
Shasta
Danean (spelled Deneen I think)
Kyle f was a small fad when it was a popular boy name but I've never met one personally.
Mare (nick for Mary) and Rush are famous names.

In terms of famous female Kyles, there's Kyle Richards: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyle_Richards (I had to check Wikipedia to make sure it's her real name.)
Have known a few female Kyles. Didn’t think it was that uncommon.
