Judah is a Hebrew name literally meaning 'Thanksgiving or Praise'.

I like the extra syllable that separates it fro Jude, and I know people ask the 'Judas Iscariot' question but that's a different person in the Bible and it bothers me none.

What I most love about it is that one of Jesus' many titles is 'The Lion of the tribe of Judah'.

And also this Bible verse 'Judah is a lion's whelp; from the prey, my son, thou art gone up. He stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as a lioness; who shall rouse him up?' Genesis 49:9

I imagine a Judah to be a calm, assertive individual who is not afraid to speak and act when it matters.
