When Spencer first met Lucan, he existed in a state of pure denial. Over the past few years of high school, he had dated girls and loved it, but the moment shy little Lucan approached him to ask for directions, Spencer forgot all those he dated. He hated the idea for awhile that he could have the same feelings for Lucan as he did for his ex-girlfriends. He never opposed the idea-- one of his best friends, Lila, had a girlfriend-- but he never thought he might fit in that category. Besides, he had no idea if Lucan did either.
After discussing the situation with Lila, Spencer felt more reassured. Their school was pretty open minded, so that wouldn't raise more issues. Lila told Spencer, "Dude, maybe you like both guys and girls. Nothing wrong with that. My girlfriend does." That made Spencer feel even more at ease. Maybe there wasn't something wrong with him. Maybe he really did love his exes while also having feelings for Lucan.
Spencer and Lucan spent most of their lunches together. Though very different in background and even in some of their interests, one thing brought them together: an appreciation for the arts. Spencer, more of a logical, mathematical minded man, tended towards photography or music, while Lucan embraced all art forms with wide open arms. Over the course of their senior year, Lucan helped Spencer dive deeper into his love of the arts, thus bringing the two boys closer in their friendship.
As prom drew closer, Spencer decided to go for it: he would ask Lucan to go with him. He didn't plan anythjng big, not wanting to draw unwanted attention. He planned to ask Lucan before school one day, just casually, framing it in a way that could be mistaken for a friend asking to go with a friend as nothing more in case Lucan wasn't that open minded and didn't want to go with Spencer as an actual date. Spencer took the whole morning to prep and gather every ounce of courage he had.

Fox Bowman & Sadie Brown met in 2007, their final year of high school. Sadie was a new student moving from a small town to the big city was terrifying. Sadie was a quiet very shy person, while Fox was loud & outgoing. They clicked straight away. As the year went along Fox started having feelings for Sadie. They denied it to themselves trying not to act on them. A week before prom Fox decided to ask Sadie to prom. As Fox was on their way to ask Sadie, Fox saw Sadie kissing Silas?, Fox was crushed. Fox still stayed friends with Sadie and high school ended. Fox & Sadie went their separate ways. Sadie had two children with Silas?. But in 2015 when Sadie found Silas cheating on them Sadie left and took their children with them. Fox had had a failed marriage and had a child. In 2017 Fox & Sadie found each other again and they both realized their feelings. They started dating & in early 2018 got married. Uniting two separate families was scary for them but they were happy. As the year went on they got pregnant.

Acton Martin fell head over heels for Marlowe Rabbit, at first he was hesitant to pursue her because his best friend at the time was in love with her. His best friend was Graham Berry, Acton & Graham had a falling out over Marlowe, Acton vowed to show Marlowe his true feelings. Graham got to Marlowe first & asked her out 3 months before prom. Marlowe never told Acton because she knew he would be upset she was with his ex-best friend. She decided it was a better idea to wait. Acton was never supposed to see Graham & Marlowe kissing. Marlowe saw Acton's face fall and felt a pang of guilt. He slowly backed up and then ran away. The next day Acton was back to his happy self & he shut Marlowe down when she tried to talk about what happened the previous day. After highschool and barely into college Marlowe fell pregnant with Reinette at 19 years old. Graham was terrified but promised after Reinette was born they would marry and live as a 'true' family. Though the family fell through hard times and the wedding never was, Marlowe's mother died and she was devastated she decided she would put the wedding off until her mourning was over. Marlowe soon forgot about the wedding and Graham was happy she didn't mention it, he was seeing multiple women on the side and he knew a marriage would put a stop to that. Graham in total at 22 had four kids already, only one belonging to Marlowe. Years later when Reinette was five she was begging for a little sister. Marlowe had graduated college and had a good job. She was afraid to get pregnant again & take leave. But Reinette's begging and afraid Graham wasn't being faithful she thought another child would tie him down. Marlowe got pregnant again and after a painful nine months Onni was born. Reinette wanted to have a little sister. When Onni was barely a year old Marlowe found out about Graham's other girlfriends, Graham said he was sorry and he would stop. But with one of his other girlfriends expecting her third child from Graham he wouldn't stop.
