Paddy and Anna met at college, where they were both getting their TA majors. More specifically, they met in his junior and her freshman year while doing Les Miserables at the college - he was Enjolras and she was Eponine. After graduation, they both auditioned to do Les Miz with a traveling dinner theatre company. Paddy made it in as Enjolras, and Anna as Fantine. They grew close during the seven-month run of the show, and when the show closed, Paddy asked Anna out officially. They were on their way to Broadway together when a family crisis sent Anna back to Ireland, where she'd spent ten years of her life. There, she began writing about theatre, and dance, and made a name for herself in Ireland and the US as a novelist. Paddy sent her tickets for Beauty and the Beast on Broadway, in which he was Lumiere, and she came back to see it. After the show, he took her to a party, and they caught up on life. She went back to Ireland, but she and Paddy kept in touch. Two months later, on Anna's 26th birthday, Paddy showed up on her doorstep with a rose, an engagement ring for her (and a matching one for himself), and a question.
Their wedding was a small one, held in an old theater in California. The guest consisted of Paddy's sister and her family, three of Anna's cousins and their families, Paddy and Anna's Les Miz theatre troupe, and a few other theatre and childhood friends. Anna wore a long white dress, her mother's white satin evening gloves, and blue Converse. Paddy wore a green bowtie with his black tux, and black and green Converse.
Anna took on Paddy's last name. She said at the wedding that all of her brothers could keep up the Soren family name, and her Irish relatives wouldn't mind having an Irish surname in the family.
Do you hear the people sing? Lost in the valley of the night. It is the music of the people who are climbing to the light! For the wretched of the earth, there is a flame that never dies. Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise...
