Hi A !!!Wow! I found my comment here!
https://www.behindthename.com/name/bruce/commentsMy thought has not changed: Bruce has a bad sound that ruins it. I add that seems heavy and dated compaired to other names. I much prefer Mackenzie, Dougal, Fraser or Leslie than It. Wallace has a similar ending sound.

I honestly find it emphatically dated and very unappealing. A name suitable for a man who is 50 or above. In other words, a name best left in the past.
Also it sounds harsh (sounding similar to the word 'bruise') another strike against the name.Just eww

It has a 1950s vibe for me, like Dean. It's alright. It's a dated sound now. I'd be surprised to see it used for a kid. But meeting a Bruce is no stranger than meeting a Walter or a Gus ... those are dorkier, IMO.
B names aren't my favorites and Bruce is no exception. But I used Bruce as my son's middle name, honoring his grandfather. So I'm glad to know someone likes it.

It's one of my favourite names. It makes me think of the character from Sweet Valley High.

I like it well enough. For my own child, I wouldn't use it,don't think it would go well with our last name.

I like it but it sounds too harsh for a kid.

It makes me think of Batman, brute force, and folk music. The overall vibe I get from it is similar to the vibe I get from Byron or Bruno + Roy.I don't love it but prefer it to some comparable names...like Bryce or Craig.

Not the best; not the worst either. I've had bad luck with all the Bruce people I've known, but there haven't been that many, and it does have a healthy, hill-walking Highland vibe which I like.I wouldn't use it; there are just too many names I like much better.I read a review of a Bruce Springfield concert once: the journalist was startled when, as he thought, the audience started booing! Then it dawned: not 'Boo-oo-oo', but 'Bruu-uu-uuce'!

I like it. I think it's adorably doofy, and it's woodsy and kind.
