My latest obsession is Wilhelmina -- I'm entranced by its continental elegance, baroque heft, and waterfall of letters & sounds. What does everyone else think? Do you prefer Willemina? Also, do you have any ideas why the name increased in popularity a few years ago? I know one of the Hanson brothers named a daughter Wilhelmina, but I don't think he's relevant enough to influence interest in the name...Here are some combos:Wilhelmina Agnes

I like it. Willemina is easier to say, but Wilhelmina looks a lot better. (Side note: the pronunciations on here for Wilhelmina use "v" because it's German, but I use "w").
Mina Harker is what turned me on to the name (does Wilhelmina get more popular whenever there's a vampire craze?)I like:

Hi Wordsmith !!!I like Wilhelmina.
You are right: it is very sophisticated with a noble and gothic vibe. I agree if it is increasing in popularity.Being Wilhelmina with 4 syllable I would pair it with something very short. These are my faves of your list:Wilhelmina Opal* my fave because Opal has a gothic vibe imo.
Wilhelmina Blanche* lovely royal name. In real life I would use It over W.Opal.

I adore Wilhelmina, and would love to see it used more often! There are quite a few adorable nickname options, too, which I think is appealing: Mina, Minnie, Willa, Billie, etc.I love Wilhelmina Fern, Wilhelmina Frances, Wilhelmina Solveig, and Wilhelmina Sophie the most :)Oh, and I prefer the Wilhelmina spelling — it’s just more interesting.
