[Opinions] Cheryl
I think Cheryl will come back a bit, just because many people have relatives called Cheryl that they will name their kids after.Paul

I'm really not a fan. To me the name 'Cheryl' will always been viewed as a dated and unappealing name. And like others have already stated, not every crusty and dusty name will have a resurgence. My sister's Mother-in-law has this name and yeah, I guarantee they won't be using her name for a future child (a 3rd or 4th daughter) Not only because of the name itself but also because of the woman herself and how she is. Needless to say, I'm glad she isn't my MIL.

I’m sure it will come back, probably about 80-100 years after its last popularity spike. That being said, I don’t like it. You know the lady whose husband Edgar is killed and worn as a suit by the bug in Men in Black? I always imagine the name Cheryl being said in her accent, for some reason. Sugar water. Edgar suit. Cheryl.

I have a relative named Cheryl. I have always liked her name, so I hope you're right.

You could say that about any dated name. In reality, some dated names come back, once most of their bearers are dead, and some don't.Cheryl has always seemed so clunky to me. It has a soft initial sound, yet still somehow comes off as clunky, IMO.
