Which one for a son, and why? Hmm. Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

I’d probably have to go with Charles because I like the nickname Charlie.

Charles. This was the name of my second cousin, who died not too long agoSecond choice would be James, which was the middle name of my dad and brother.I don't much like Henry.

Charles because I know too many people named James and I don't particularly care for the name Henry

James. I don't care for the others.

Probably Henry. Solid, handsome, warm and practical. DH would call him Hal, I like the possibility of Hank.Charles sounds slimy to me. I like Charlie, but as a full name.I kind of hate James, though I'm not really sure why.

I already used Henry for my son’s middle name, and there are already a Charles and a James in the extended family. I guess I’d pick James though, as Charlie is so popular where I live, I’m really bored of it.

I think I’d go for James. I like it okay in full and Jimmy as a nn. I like Charlie but not Charles in full as much.

Henry was my sister's demon possessed ferret.Charles has always sounded smarmy to me.So, James by default. He could be Jay...

Charles mbut he would always be Charlie.
If he can't be Charlie, then Henry. Henry's sort of twangy but it's cute enough. I'd rather use Henrik or Hendrick.
Never James, a smarmy sounding name which annoys the hell out of me. Unless he was always Jamie, but then I'd just name him Jamie.

James, hands down. This would have been our son's name if we'd had one.
Charles is also a very good name.

Henry, definitely. Charles is old and stuffy, never liked it and James is boring and your typical filler mn.

James. It's down to earth and no nonsense and most of the James' I've known have been nice.Henry and Charles are a bit stuffy for me.

James. It’s been one of my favourite boy’s names for many years and Jamie is a cute nickname. I like Henry so that would be my second but I don’t like Charles so that would be last.

Charles.Very much under used and Charlie is a cute nickname.Henry would be my second choice and James last.

James. Charles always makes me think of Charles Manson, illogically I know, since there have been myriad other men named Charles, some accomplished, talented, and distinguished, but I can't help it. I'm so-so on Henry. I used to dislike it, but it has grown on me, yet not enough to want to use it. I've always found James such a handsome name.

HenryThey're all good names, but Henry has been top of my list since forever. It was my grandfather's name and the name of my favourite ancestor, and I like everything about it; the history, the meaning, the sound, even its slightly stuffy feel which I think would be adorable on a littlun.
Charles is my pa's name, which would feel weird, and James is a great name, but just doesn't have the personal resonance for me that Henry does.

Henry (The only one I'd be able to use anyway)James is my nephew's middle and not Charles but Charlotte is the middle name of my youngest niece making both names unusable. If differently, I would pick James.

Hi!
Hands down James! I just love this name! It's my favorite boy name ever!

I'd be happy with both Henry and James, but I'd choose James. It's a very handsome name, and I've loved it for years. It's a bit like Sam for me, it sounds so friendly so I can't imagine a mean James. Or an ugly one, haha.

Ah an easy one!James! I just don't like Henry or Charles enough to ever name my child this. We just had a new family member called otis James, but even the re-use of James wouldn't stop me. James Marino Constantine if I didn't have to take my husband's opinion into account. He'd probably be James Johannes Constantine if I did have to consider his say in the matter.
