I adore Meir, It's such a lovely name with a wonderful meaning. Definitely on my list. I'm not sure about Meyer, it looks less elegant to me. I still like it though.

Meir might have potential, but Meyer is definitely a surname only to me. It'd be so weird to have someone called Meyer as their FN for me. I think the feminine form of Meir, Meira, is actually quite lovely.
