Eva is Italian, and met Mark while she was travelling to England with her sisters. Mark was working at an art gallery Eva visited, and they had an instant connection. After a whirlwind romance, they settled in London and have lived happily ever after - despite Eva never quite settling for the English cuisine!

Graziella met Junpei at a Rolling Stones concert in 1982. They were pen pals for two years before they decided to marry and settle down in Tokyo. A few years after their youngest daughter was born, Graziella and Junpei separated as friends, and Graziella moved back to London with her two young daughters.
Gracie met her American husband while studying at Edinburgh University in Scotland. Zach has distant Scottish roots, and came to Scotland to explore his heritage. Gracie and Zach now live outside Fife with their three children.
Isa spent some of her teenage years living in Tokyo with her father, and then her early twenties travelling around South-East Asia. In Indonesia she met her girlfriend, and through insemination they conceived triplets! They now live in Bangkok, Thailand.
Many years after the divorce, Graziella began to flirt with the next door neighbour, and they ended up marrying. Together they have two children, and they still live in the same London suburb where they met.

Rupert and Evie were high school sweethearts when they found out Evie was expecting. Evie gave birth to their son when they were just 18 years old. Both Rupert’s and Evie's parents helped out with raising the boy - Evie hails from Sweden and Björn grew up trilingual (Swedish, Italian, and English).
Björn is now 34 years old and has a family of his own. He met his wife at theatre where he works - he’s a stagehand and she’s an actress. She moved to London from Uganda as a teenager to reunite with her father and try her luck acting.
Rupert later married a friend of a friend: Chara is Greek, and has a son from a previous relationship. Jack and his girlfriend just had a baby girl.
Rupert and Chara have two children together as well, and are happily settled in Leatherhead, just outside of London.

Sonya met her husband at a film festival, and after a year of dating they married. They’re both film fanatics, which is reflected in their name choices for their three children.
When their youngest son, Marlon, was just 8 years old he was diagnosed with leukaemia. He spent many years in the hospital, but luckily survived. Through a cancer survivor group for children, he met the girl who would later become his wife. Since they’ve both been through intense cancer treatments, they knew they couldn’t have biological children, and decided to adopt.
Meryl met her boyfriend two years ago - he’s born and raised in London to Iranian parents. He has a son from a previous relationship, who absolutely adores Meryl.

Jenny met her husband at university: he was an exchange student from Espoo, Finland. They fell in love and married, and relocated to Helsinki, Finland, where they raised their five children.
Becky was travelling and working in New Zealand when she met her husband-to-be. His Maori family owns the winery where Becky was working for a season to support her travelling. She ended up staying, and the family is now happily settled in Marlborough, New Zealand, with two young children.
Donnie also went travelling after finishing school. He ended up in Jerusalem, where he met his boyfriend.
