I'd intuitively pronounce it ray-sah, and said that way, it reminds me of the words 'race' 'eraser' and 'razor'...or if it's rie-sah, that just makes me think of 'rice' or 'riser'...and my first thought upon seeing it was 'raisin'...not terrible but not great. I guess if someone really wanted Ray / Rae / Rey / Rai as a NN, it'd make sense to use it, but I'd prefer Raina. It also seems a bit like Elsa but less familiar.I think the Russian pronunciation given (ru-EES-uh) is pretty, though no one where I live would read it that way...I'd spell it Ruisa, if I wanted that sound....rah-ees-uh is nice sounding, too. I like it if it's 3 syllables but not if it's 2.

Raisa is one of those names I'd like to be more fond of. Maybe I'll warm to it some day! My grandpa has a sister named Raisa Maria Carmela which I find very nice a combo.
