[Games] Re: Game of Life

I will be playing as a character named Georgia Beth "Gina."
Round One:
In high school, we were voted sweetest couple. And now, five years later, we're married! Harris and I were married last weekend. The ceremony was beautiful, set in a garden, the trees and the flowers blooming gracefully. I wore a flowing ivory gown, complete with embroidery that matched the embroidery on my mother's gown. Harris looked stunning in his tuxedo. It was a very happy day for everyone involved!
Round Two:
Harris and I are beaming with pride. Two days ago, we welcomed Aliya Ruby into the world on January 11th. She has dark round eyes and the biggest smile I've ever seen on such a young baby! We love her to pieces! While my pregnancy was hard, the end result was the best I could ever imagine!
Round Three:
Aliya, now three and a half, can enjoy being a sister! We have recently adopted two children from a local adoption agency. We bring Carmen Leah, six, and Elliot Finley, two, into our home. Carmen is dark-haired like Aliya, with pale blue eyes and a sweet face. Elliot has wavy blonde hair with the same eyes as Carmen and a round face, looking similar to Harris when he was Elliot's age! Carmen is enrolled in first grade and has made several friends, while Aliya is just beginning preschool. The girls are good friends, and both are taking ballet lessons together. Elliot definitely has a wild side and loves to run through the park. He is excited to be with us!
Round Four:
Carmen is seven, Aliya is four, and Elliot is three. Stressful? Yes. But it's so rewarding when one of the kids comes up to us and gives us a big hug, saying, "I love you!" As much as we love kids, we were never prepared to have quadruplets! If my pregnancy was hard with Aliya, it was three times worse with the quads! For the last few weeks, in fact, I could barely squeeze into my maternity clothes! Coming almost four weeks early, but still healthy, James Donovan, Sonia Jacqueline, Adriana Camille and Gregory Jerome were born! Sonia and Greg both have light brown hair and dark eyes, while Jamie and Adriana has almost black hair and dark eyes.
With seven people living in one house, it's more than cramped. So we have moved to a much larger house on the other side of town. It has five bedrooms plus an office, if we ever want a guest bedroom! While the quads sleep in bassinets in our room, eventually, Jamie and Greg will share a room, as will Sonia and Adriana and Aliya and Carmen. Elliot, the lucky little boy, gets his own room!
Elliot has been lobbying for a pet. We got a frisky little kitten, which Elliot has named Big Bird, after his idol on Sesame Street. :)
Round Five:
Carmen is twelve, Aliya is nine, Elliot is eight, and the quads are five. Unexpectedly, my sister has died from an infection due to complications from a simple surgery. It has been an enormous loss to us, as I was extremely close to her. She has left her two children, Alexander Cade and Delia Elise, ages six and four, respectively, to us. Alex doesn't quite understand all the details, but he does know that Mommy is an angel now. He's very upset and goes into a rage at the smallest things. Delia doesn't understand the concept of death, but knows that, in her words, "Mommy went bye-bye and isn't coming back."
Accidentally, we became pregnant again. In such hard times for us, it was difficult to be pleased with this. But now we're thrilled to welcome Gabriel Felix into the world, named after Delia and Alex's mother Gabrielle! Gabe is a joy to be around, lighting up the room with his smile. Our final living situation is this:
Harris and I have one room, Aliya and Carmen have the second bedroom, Elliot and Gabe share the third bedroom, Jamie, Greg, and Alex share the fourth bedroom, Adriana, Sonia, and Delia share the fifth bedroom, and the office has been converted into the office / guest bedroom / spare room. It's a tight fit, but we make it!
Summary:
Carmen (22,) Aliya (19,) and Elliot (18,) are in college now. Alex is sixteen and learning to drive. The quads are fifteen, each with their own interests- Jamie is into basketball, Greg baseball. Sonia is quite the little artist, and Adriana is winning first place at every gymnastics meet she competes at. Delia, fourteen, is on the phone constantly with all her friends- a typical conversation would be, "And he said that? OMG, whatever. And I was like, whatever. Hey, wanna go to the mall this weekend?" It's funny to listen to. Gabe just turned ten, and he's with his friends all the time.
Carmen and Elliot are looking further into adoption. They have kept in touch with their birthparents and have a great relationship with them. Delia and Alex have accepted their mother's death and have been able to cope with that; however, they sometimes ask us if their lives would've been different had their mother not died.
Was having ten kids the best thing to do? I think it was- each child was a gift, and I'm proud of what we have been able to give them.
