I think it could work.

It sounds nice but I don't think it can work as a name because of associations and it really isn't used in the US. If you don't live in the US, that wouldn't be a problem of course.

Considering American parents are giving their kids names khaleesi, Anakin, Kylo, Legacy, Legend etc, Arwen is rather tame and normal sounding by comparison and is easy to prounouce and has no negetive conotations. Also since 1968 2,096 girls have been named Arwen, not including middle names.

Yes, I would have to agree. I have run into Arwens in the US, and as well as Eowyns and Luthiens.

Yes, definitely. I have run into a few Arwens. I cannot see why it wouldn't work.

The sound is gorgeous and is easy to pronounce. It is exclusively tied to a single character, so I would not use it even though the association is positive. I think it could work as a middle name.

Yes, I've got a cousin called Arwen and there's really no issue. Her mother loved LotR (ythis was way before the movies came out, so not everyone even knew about Arwen the Elf. I like the sound and if you don't mind people having LotR as an association with the name, there's really no reason why it shouldn't work.

Yes. I worked with an Arwen once. The attention she got for it was basically positive. It's natural to say aloud, easy to learn, nice.

I like it. I can definitely see it IRL on the right type of person (but it wouldn't work for just anyone).

Sure, it works. It's obviously a LotR name, but I don't think that's a bad thing, according to most people. I knew an Aragorn, and people always complimented him on his name. And this was before the movies.I'm partial to Eowyn as a character, but Arwen has the better sounding name.

Dounds masculine to me. I prefer 'Anwen' sounds far more beautiful

Yes, it works, its a legitimate Welsh name, tied though it is to The Lord of the Rings, I think it would make a nice uncommon mn. I prefer the masculine Arwyn though.
