[Facts] French Equivalent of JASPER (M)
1. What is the Fench equivalent of the male name Jasper?
2. If the answer is "Jasper" or "There isn't one", are there any French male names that mean "jewel"/"precious stone"?
3. Are there any other French male names besides Casper/Kaspar that sound or look like Jasper?

The male name Jasper is only coincidentally the same as a precious stone. Jasper (the name) and Jasper (the stone) have two different origins. The French equivalent of the male name is Gaspard, Casper and Kaspar are variants of the same name. The French word for the stone is Jaspe — the English word is taken from he French, which ultimately has a Semitic origin. The male name is also from the Middle East, but may not be Semitic - it's originally a title that apparently means "Treasurer", It was certainly used in the Persian Empire, but may be Chaldean or even Sumerian in origin.

The name Prosper looks and sounds a bit like Jasper. The following French website might be useful: https://nominis.cef.fr/contenus/prenom/alphabetique.html

To elaborate, Jasper is a variant of Caspar or Gaspar (either misread as C or mispronounced as J), the name of one of the three wise men in medieval tradition. The French version is Gaspard.
