I like Hesper and adore Hester (and Hestia).

I like it! I keep thinking it's wind and not evening (maybe I'm thnking of zephyr) but still good imagery. Sound-wise it's like Hester but without the Esther vibes. Hesper still reminds me of The Scarlet Letter (just because what I saw the name I had to stop and think "whas it Hesper or Hester? Hesper Prynne? Nope, it was definitely Hester") but I was one of the few people in high school who actually liked that book/character anyway.

To me it sounds ugly.
I also dislike Hester.
I might dislike them less if they were guy names.

I've been aware of it for many years because my favorite author, Anya Seton, used it as the name of the main character for one of her novels, "The Hearth and the Eagle."

I don't like the "per" ending the same way I don't like the "fer" ending at the end of Jennifer. I don't think it's attractive, but it's better than Hester.

It looks like a cross between Hester and Vesper. It's interesting, but I don't think I really like it.

It’s kind of charming. My first thought was the Wreck of the Hesperus though, and I don’t think I’d like to be reminded of what happened to that daughter when I think of mine.

I love it, Hester is an old favourite of mine and Hesper has a nice meaning.

I agree that could be unisex as it doesn't have any suffix -a, -os, -ia.

I personally prefer Hesperia.

I really don't like it. It makes me think of Hespler Road, a road near where I used to live.
