[Opinions] Morag & Morven
I've come across both these names recently and I love them both. Thoughts?

I've never been a fan of Morag. It has an unpleasant sound to me. Morven sounds like an elven fantasy villain.

I like Morag - my friend Isobel has a sister Morag, which apparently has the same meaning as Sarah, and if I'd chosen to use my grandmother Sarah Anne's first name, I'd have used Morag instead because of finding Sarah so bleak and boring.Morven, not so much. Too close to Mervyn, in sight and sound if not in meaning! Morwenna is better, but I didn't respond to the Morwenna thread because I really had nothing to say. It's OK, I don't mind it, but that's as far as it goes.

They both look and sound kind of weird to me. Morven reminds me of Mervyns, a store we used to shop at a lot, as a kid, and it closed down shortly after I got married.Morag has a harsh sound, and I don’t like the -ag sound at the ending.

I love Morag! It's one of my favourite M names, and ong of the very few "hard g" names I dom't dislike.I prefer Morwenna over Morven.

I prefer Morwen over Morven––the 'v' makes me think of Marvin?Morag makes me think of a villain in a fantasy novel too much.
