Very dated. I had a bunch in my classes growing up. One male, the rest female. The boy’s last name was Lynn, so I think he lived a lifetime of subverted expectations. Not that your surname reveals your gender in our culture, but when you go into a meeting expecting a “Kelly Lynn”, well...

I don’t find the name particularly pleasant-sounding either. The Ls hit at the back of my throat and the “ee” ending doesn’t work for most names.

Really like for a boy, but I'm not sure it's circled back around yet for girls. Give it some more time.

One time I saw a name list that had multiple male Kellys, and I thought, must be Canadian! I was right.

This is so common to me, it lost all associations. All I can think of is green.

Kelly green. Barbie's little sister. Dated. Cheerful. Friendlier than Kelsey, not as vintage-fun as Nelly, stronger but not as "now" as Ellie, maybe about the same as Shelley.

Yeah, it's just there. lol Like, if you were stumped for a character name and had to think of one within the hour, you might think, "Oh! Kelly! Kelly [insert last name that's also just 'there']!" lol

Dated and boring. I know it's unisex, and I've known a male Kelly, but I would expect a random Kelly to be a girl. To me it has sort of an aggressively preppy/yuppie vibe.

I honestly don't think much of it. I neither admire nor despise it. A name thats just simply there.
I don't normally associate names with colors but this one definitely brings to mind, green and yellow. That's the first thing that it makes me think of.

When I was a little girl I used to see advertising of "Lelli Kelly" a brend of shoes for children. I used to dislike those shoes a lot because they usually were full of glitters and pink (my favourite colours were and still are green and blue). I still have this link in my brain because Kelly is not a name that you can hear in Italy.

Flat, dull, juvenile and unisex. And faux-Oirish, and lnfn. The cards are stacked against it.

It's always made me think of a muscular, very athletic woman, and for me personally that's not a really positive image, so I don't care for it. I hope this doesn't offend any athletic females out there. It's strictly personal, due to the fact that in high school gym class I witnessed the non-athletic girls not being treated very nicely by the athletic girls.

As a teenager, I used to babysit for a little girl named Kelly who would now be forty-seven years old. Yikes. I have no idea whether or not she turned out to be muscular and athletic, lol.

It just occurred to me that it can be a boys' name, although I automatically thought "girl". I think I'd like it more as a boys' name if it hadn't once been popular for girls. I'm not of the "It doesn't matter, Ashley, Courtney, Leslie, and Kelly are still fine for boys" school of thought.
