One of my besties gave birth on April 1st to...

Which I think is lovely. I gave up Margaux several years ago after another friend used Margot, and so suggest d it to this friend :)

Anyway her birth got me thinking about the combo Ruth April which I’m currently loving. Wdyt of it?

Never been a fan of the name Ruth, although I've known several lovely people named Ruth.
I do like April.

I'd love to meet a Margot Ruth. I don't much care for either name personally but I like them together and would be happy to see them. Margaux is fun.

I love Ruth as a fn - it seems wasted as a mn - and I don't enjoy April at all, but as a mn it's easy to overlook.

Ruth Margot would flow better than Margot Ruth, for what that's worth. I used to know a Ruth Margaret, and I prefer Margaret to Margot and just about anything to Margaux; now I know a Ruth Mary, which should be glorious but there's something that prevents me from being entirely in favour of it, and I don't know what it is. Syllables? Ruth Anne is fine; so are Ruth Alice and Ruth Antonia. Can't be that, then.

My problem with Ruth Mary would be that I'm not keen on the "th-m" transition (though I quite like Ruth Margaret just for the rhythm and the vibe) but if you like Ruth Margot I doubt it's that either. For me, both Ruth Margot and Margot Ruth flow nicely.

I love it! I’ve been thinking of Margot a lot more recently, and I love Margot Robbie as well so there’s that connection for me.

I’m not a fan of Ruth as a fn. It sounds harsh and dated to me. April’s been growing on me.

Margot Ruth is lovely. That's awesome that your friend took your suggestion. Ruth is just about my favorite girl name, so I'm gonna love just about any combo. I tend to like softer, longer middle names with Ruth (Ruth Angelica is a favorite combo), so Ruth April does feel a little abrupt to me. But it's also spunky, unexpected, and fresh, so hey!
