Definitely nay for me. I love the name, it was one of our top contenders during our last pregnancy with DS#3. We probably would have gone with the Remi spelling too, as a short version of Remiel. We went with Remiel instead, as the mn. This name, whether with the Remi or Remy spelling is all boy to me. There are so many girl names out there to choose from. Romy and Ruby are better alternatives for a girl.

Nay. I only like it on a boy. I do know someone who named her daughter Remi, though.

Nay. The 'i' ending is cutesy and undignified. Also, Remi/Remy reminds me of the word "rheumy."

As an English speaker, Remy reminds of the word "rheumy". All I can think of is red eyes and runnny noses.
Remi reminds of a gun.Sorry, ladies and gentemen. IMO, it's totaly unusable.

Huge Nay.Hate it on a girl. I also particularly hate that spelling. The i on the end really bugs me.. don't know why but it does.. y looks so much nicer.Remy is 100% boy to me.

Yay! I have a friend named Remi Rose, I think it’s so pretty

Nay! It's very masculine to me and should never be used on girls.

Not for me. Renée is nicer, though René is just amazing on a boy and can't be topped.

There's an attorney at my office named Rene and it was my first boyfriend's middle name (Xavier Rene pronoucned shah-vee-ay)

A former colleague named his second son René. It's a good name all right, but all I could think of was Lucy, in the Peanuts strip, when she had a second younger brother and the poor chap was always known as Rerun.

Huge nay to that. I think Remi sounds better for a boy and Rumi & Demi for girls. (The only similiar sounding names I can think of off the top of my head)I think it could work on itself own but I love it as a nn to 'Remiel' (: (Or spelled as Remy. Either works) (:

Also Emmy/Emmie of course.

Yes, why not? Remington for a girl is getting quite popular, and I assume most parents call their little girls Remi for short. It can be also used as a NN for Remielle. As a stand alone, I'm not too big on it, but it works. Doesn't sound too masculine IMO.

Nay, sorry. It seems too nicknamey as a given name, and I can’t think of any really good longer names for it.

Nay, though I do like Remy for a boy.

Hi !!!In my mind Rémi is a French masculine name. He is the main character of the novel written by Hector Malot.

I think it is so cute.
It certainly can stand alone or it could be short for: Ramona or Remington. I like Remi / Remy better than Remington for a girl.
I’d pair Remi with a longer classic middle:Remi Juliana
Remi Elisabeth
Remi June
Remi Juliet
Remi Jacqueline
Remi Evangeline
Remi Alexandra
Remi Frances
Remi Elyse
Remi Estelle
Remi Evelyn
Remi Diana
Remi Catherine / Remi Katherine
Remi Adelaide
Remi Adeline
Remi Abigail
