The aram- part puts me off because of haram and harem.
I prefer both Amaranta and Aminta over it.
I also love Minta and Minty. They reminds me the mint a taste that I love. I would use both as full names, not short of it.
The fact is that Araminta itself is too elaborated and the meaning is incertain.
I can see it in Harry Potter or another story full of witches and wizards.
It is fascinating but nothing I would choose in real life.
