Eugene, because it’s the lesser of three evils.
Eugene!
This used to be one of my favorite names lol. Not sure why... but it's still okay. NN Gene.
Elias is so much nicer than Elijah - I can't get over how the I and J look together. And its only nn is... Eli? Yuck. I wish I could appreciate Ebenezer for the gritty, ugly-cute vintage vibes, but it sounds like geezer.

Sorry, pal. Not this time. Faced with this choice IRL, I'd find myself choosing between adoption and suicide.
LOL...I love how blunt, you are. It's refreshing, after hearing, "Sorry, NMS!", so many times.
Ebenezer. I can't resist...it's so cute...and wow, haha (that's new).
I hate Gene. Eugene's only slightly better...it could grow on me, but it'd take awhile.
I liked Elijah 15 years ago (and still sort of do), but now my strongest impression of it is of a jock (nms)...similar vibe to Jacob but younger.

Elijah wins easily. It is very popular at the moment, which is off putting, but I genuinely like it. It has a nice sound. The Biblical character is interesting and also appears in the Quran. I also like Elijah Wood in "Lord of the Rings" and "The Adventures of Huck Finn."
Ebenezer Scrooge - need I say more?
Eugene - very dated and a bit whiny sounding but not terrible. I'm surprised it hasn't experienced a hipster revival.

I agree - especially with Ebenezer.
Probably approaching twenty years prior, my ex and I ate at a restaurant with the name Ebenezer in the title. I briefly met the either owner or manager: I don't remember if that were his personal name or not - but of course, I remembered the name--and his "person" overcame all "scrooge-like" associations: so, surpassing this, now we have all the qualities that a multi-syllable "old fashioned" style name (or how-ever else we may classify it) upon which to conjugate, opine, and theorize. So if I were an Ebenezer, would my nick name be Abe, Evan, Eve - pet name - Evie?; perhaps these short name are too fem - so could this name popularity move more toward ladies - Ebeneza for Neecie?

Elijah by default, because Ebenezer and Eugene are too geeky old man for my tastes.
Agree -
Elijah. I like it, actually.
Ebenezer is too Scroogy, and Eugene is painful.
