Love it, though I'd have mixed feelings about it if were my name because of the myth...killing children is heavy, even as a distant association.

It sounds nice, but the association with the mythology character is awful. Amedea is a better alternative.

Not particularly. I just don't think a woman who killed her kids is a good namesake.

I love the sound, but I’m not sure how it would go down irl. Medea’s a big guilty pleasure for me, but I would love to meet one. I’d also gladly use Amadea.

I love Medea. I'm a little annoyed that she murdered her kids and went insane, but then again how many 'normal' people would associate that with the name.
I would pronounce it more the Dutch was; muh-DAY-ah

I think it's interesting and I want to like it, but it's a little iffy as a baby name given the myth. Can't help but think of the Madea movie series either.
