[Opinions] Cecelia. (m)
in reply to a message by Julie
Celia's cute, but I think I'd prefer a longer first name, with Celia as a nickname. And I definitely prefer the spelling of Cecelia, because Cecilia has the word 'cilia' in it (which are little things attached to eukaryote cells that help them move about or sense things; almost like little legs). I know most people would probably never think of the whole 'cilia' thing, but it really bothers me, and I can't help but not see it in the name. Also, I think if you want to use the nickname Celia with the name Cecelia/Cecilia, Cecelia makes a bit more sense (though I think it's possible to pull off the nickname regardless of the spelling). (Out of all 'Cecilia' variants, though, I think my favorite's actually Cecily.)
