[Opinions] Re: Amaya or Amaia
in reply to a message by A
I don't like it too much. It doesn't have a nice meaning ('the end') and it feels like someone just put an A in front of Maya or Maia, made up, even though I know it isn't. It also feels so trendy. I have the feeling everyone on the internet likes it because of an unreliable Japanese meaning it got assigned to it (it has no history of usage in Japan) and it seems even more current and trendy because of that, something a teenager would choose to write fan fiction for an anime or something. No offense, I just dislike it.
To be honest all of them feel trendy or formerly trendy. Paige is 90s, Skye 2000s and Amaya feels very 2010s. I like Paige and Skye but not enough to use.
Where I live Paige and Skye don't work so I would have to use Amaia (this spelling is a little better, in my opinion, but I think most people would spell it Amaya).
