I like Léo, Alexandre, Idriss, Aurélien, Francis (doesn't strike me as French, though), Clément, Robin, Samir, and Maxime.

Walter (vahl-TER): Not French.
Ismaël: Doesn't strike me as very French.
Jérôme: Good.
Cyril (see-REEL): Yes, but for a character because I don't like it.
Léo: Yes (my cousin's baby, but it was also my cat's name).
Jean-Baptiste: Yes, for a character (not my fav for real life, maybe a bit religious).
Tomas (taw-MA): Usually with an "h" for French use I think.
Ousmane: Doesn't sound that French.
Yves: Yes (my dad's generation).

André - reminds me of old colleague. Although a nice enough man, I’ve never taken to his name.
Walter (vahl-TER) - I’d never guess the prn. Not keen on it. Too old fashioned.
Ismaël - reminds me immediately of Moby Dick. I’d like to see this name more often.
Jérôme - Jérôme makes me think of the song. Good, solid, handsome name.
Cyril (see-REEL) - I really dislike the prn! Not keen at all!
Léo - A soft name for a man, Despite the meaning I don’t thinks it’s very musculine name. I’d prefer as nn for a girl.
Jean-Baptiste - Ah French double names! There’s something about them that I love. Jean is okay, love Bapstiste!
Tomas (taw-MA) - I like the prn, not keen on the name. A bit boring.
Ousmane - looks Moroccan, not French? Not keen on it.
Yves - Saint Laurent. A fashionable name. LOVE!
Patrick (pa-TREEK) - With this prn I’d spell it differently (Patrique?). I don’t like it.
Mahamadou - African name? Not keen on this spelling but I like the sp Mamadou.
Eddy - Eddy is the cool dude. Somehow it makes think of a Fonsie look-a-like. Biker jacket, Harley, Rock & Roll.
Michel - Feminine sound, but I like it as it’s the name of a friend.
Alexandre - Alexander The Great. Strong name, but there are so many Alexander’s out there that it’s lost it’s power. I’d prefer Alexei
César - Reminds me of the dog food. Cute name for a dog, not for a human being.
