[Opinions] Re: WDYT of Brooklyn?
I strongly dislike the name Brooklyn on several different levels, it's strikes me as cheesy and trendy. I'm not really a fan of random place names in general, and I can't imagine naming a child after one of the burrows...even if I had a connection to NYC- but I suppose it has a better ring to than Bronx ;) Furthermore, I think that the Beckham connection is beyond obvious when paired with Romeo. Frankly it doesn't really matter if you like the names before they were used by the Beckhams, because it *will* look like you copied...but I suppose you could always open with "I liked these names way before Becks and I didn't copy!" prior to introducing your children... I must say, wow, what a coincidence that someone you happen to be a big fan of used your long time favorite names for his sons, especially considering that they are both quite unusual names to name little boys! Maybe it's fate!I think the nickname Brooks is a little foolish in a sibset with the name River, though I admittedly think any less than subtle theme in sibsets reeks of cheese. This is all on top of the trendy vibe that the name has in my opinion...with the ever popular 'lyn' tacked on, a little 'Brooks' is sure to get lost in a sea of Everythinglyn's.
