[Opinions] Re: Cheyenne for a boy?

I don’t like it for either gender. Even if you understand all the nuances of history and meaning that the name represents to First Nations peoples, and most people who would use the name won’t, it still feels wrong. If any one culture oppressed another, or in this case attempted to full-out eradicate it, people from the oppressing culture should not get to adopt elements from the oppressed one because they now think that culture is cool. There is too much baggage, and to pretend otherwise is ignorant and insensitive.
There are so many beautiful names in the world, including ones for boys that are beautiful and soft. I would personally let this one go.
