Holly here
I remember being five and kids making fun of me for being named after a plant, but it made me not like those kids instead of not liking the name.Overall, I’ve always liked the name but since I was born nowhere near Christmas, being asked if I am a Christmas baby got old really fast.

I love it. It’s a name that DH and I both really like and it’s one of the few girls names that has been on our list from the beginning and would still be on there. It’s a timeless, pretty name imo.

I personally don't like it because of someone I knew.
But, personal associations aside, I think it's underrated.

I think it’s very nice.

It's a bit too childish for my taste, but I don't mind it.

Not keen; I've got a very pleasant step-niece who was named Holly no doubt because they liked it but mostly it's a name that her profoundly deaf father can, somewhat, say. But it wouldn't have been my choice.I think it's the sound, mostly: I don't enjoy Dolly, Molly, Olly, Wally ... though perversely I love Polly. No explanation! And also all the holly-and-ivy merry-Christmas-cheer, lumps of cottonwool on shop windows, impersonating snow when it's in the 80s, which doesn't get my juices flowing either.

Went to primary school / high school with 2 Holly's (Well one Holly and one Hollie). It sounds both very feminine and tomboyish to me because of them. I like the name, it sounds cute

I do like Holly for a seasonal name, but not for a person, who was not born around Christmastime. Natalie sounds more versatile for a child and adult, alike.

I know way too many! There's nothing inherently wrong with it, it just feels a bit overused to me.

It's a little dated but I like it. I think it sounds like someone talented, eccentric, and busy.

Hi !!!Holly is one of my favourite English names since I was a child. It has a lovely meaning, it's short, it does not need any nickname and it is ageless. Its simplicity is what I love together to its nature-themed vibe that makes it so clear and immediate.
