I think that it depends on the character because they give me different vibes:
Isabella is aristocratic and very feminine.
Isabelle is middle-class, cutesy, cheerful but quite boring.
Isabel (English) is more common, strong, tomboyish. I can figure a Isabel wearing a leather jacket while she is riding a Harley-Davidson.
