Strong, handsome and solid. I like the nickname Rand, but also the full name. I used to know a girl named Randi / Randy (I cant remember the spelling). I’ve always wondered if her fathers name was Randall and if she was named after him. It’s such an unusual name for a girl.

Not so keen. I have three primary associations with it (and one nickname bonus);Jeffrey Randall, a detective from the British cult series "Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased)"Randall, the snitch from "Recess"Randall, the antagonist from Monster's IncRandy the nice, but a bit dimwitted detective from "Monk"Two of the three Randall associations are of antagonists. Though, Jeffrey Randall is a much stronger association because he's from one of my favourite series, one that I've known since a very, very small child (unlike Recess and Monster's Inc). Jeff is a good association, but I don't think it's enough for me to not think of it as "the name of a bad guy"The nickname Randy isn't as bad as, say, Dick, but it does sound a bit too sexual for my tastes. Randy from Monk I'd say is a good association, but I can't help associate it with somebody a bit stupid / naive As a whole, I don't think it sounds all that nice on the offset, the associations for the most part are negative, squashing any positive images I might have of it, and the nickname is far from desirable

Hi !!!I link it with a fictional character: Jonathan Randall from 'Outlander'. He was the main antagonist of the book series and the later TV series too. I strongly dislike this name for that reason.I prefer Randolf.I know it could be strange but being Italian I don't see these names in the wild so fictional or real famous bearers are my only link with them.

I really like it. It sounds handsome and historical. There was a time when I would have considered using it, but this board informed me that Randy is sometimes a slang term. I slightly prefer the spelling Randal since they second L doesn't serve a purpose.

Eh..
Don't really like the nickname Randy, and it reminds me of Randall from Monsters INC.

Solid, no-nonsense on paper. The “This Is Us” character, exquisitely portrayed by Sterling K. Brown, has warmed me to it.
