[Facts] Diminutives and Patronymics in Russian
Hello! I'm currently learning Russian and I wonder, is there a diminutive /short form of the name Афанасий (Afanasiy), like Коля for Николай or Ира for Ирина? Also, a person whose father is named Joseph what kind of patronymic will have? Thank you in advance!

According to some Russian name sites, nicknames would be Фаня, Нася, Фоша, Фоня and Афоня.The Russian form of Joseph is Иосиф, the patronymic of which is Иосифович for men and Иосифовна for women.
