Is it “ASS-er”, “AY-ser”, “AY-zer” or “AZZ-er”? The fact that there are so many possibilities makes it difficult for a written medium. Unless you’re going to include how to pronounce it within the story (like Rowling felt she had to do with the name Hermione), I’d use something more intuitive.

It would be "AH-zer" or at least that's how I've been pronouncing it. I definitely agree that the possibilities make it difficult, which is a shame since the name looks good on paper. I might just go with Asher and sacrifice the Latin origin. Thank you for the input.
