[Opinions] Zeppelin on a girl?
What do you think of it. I love it. On a girl, its soo pretty, but sounds a bit unisex-trendy.~

Why notI like the sound of it, and honestly don't see a problem.
I'm assuming you're American? You guys name kids stuff like Hunter, Sunny, Ireland, Chase etc. So it's not like Zeppelin would be the first of her kind.

The Hindenberg was a zeppelin that exploded and crashed in New Jersey in 1937, killing 36 people and ending air travel by zeppelin. Although the loss of life was relatively small compared to later air disasters involving airplanes, it became a very famous event. A radio broadcaster said live, "Oh the humanity!" Plus a zeppelin is very similar to a blimp and the word "blimp" has a slang meaning of "very overweight person".There's really no comparison to Sunny, Ireland, Chase, or even Hunter, as hunting is not universally condemned.

I'm reaching here, but how about Zipporah (Zeporah?) instead? Zypherine?

I know a little girl named Zeppelin Metalica - so much cringe. I don’t even like Zeppelin on a boy, and definitely not on a girl.

That's not very subtle, is itAnd what if she grows up and likes country? Or acoustic folk?

I wouldn't say "unisex" so much as "completely sexless, because it doesn't sound in the least bit like a name." No, not for a girl, and not for a boy neither. I don't think it's pretty, I think it's awkward and weird and ugly, and also everyone will assume you're naming the kid after Led Zeppelin

I think it's an airship that killed many civilians.

Have you got any idea at all what a Zeppelin was and what damage and loss of life they caused? Presumably not.

It doesn't sound bad, actually, due to my liking Led Zeppelin.

Oh please, no.

It's bad on any gender of human being. 'Zep' as a nickname for an actual name, like Giuseppe/Giuseppina, would be cool, though.

in some areas ...I think Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey, a zep is what's called a sub or a hoagie in other places. A big sandwich, that is. Because of the "torpedo" roll it's served on.

um, no ...It's not a girl's name or a boy's name. It's a hot-air balloon.
A blimp, okay?

It could be cute ...
if it didn't mean an airship, or remind anyone of Led Zeppelin.
About 20 girls getting this name annually, lately.
If it didn't have associations and was just a German surname, I'd think it was eh OK - but too easy, because of the -lin ending resembling a bajousand trendy girlnames.Because of the strong associations, how it's not just a snappy sound to me and can't be just that - I can't like it. It doesn't exactly sound trendy to me. Zachlyn is trendy. To me Zeppelin just sounds kind of silly and verging on unfortunate. Zeppelin's sibs might be Hindenburg and Daimler, or maybe Aerostat and Dirigible. Or Purple and Sabbath? I'm sorry ... I think I understand how it sounds namey to you. But I just can't un-associate all the associations I have with the term Zeppelin. It's like Tesla ... it's namey enough that someone will think of using it, but for people familiar with the fame of Nikola Tesla, plus the cars - it just seems bad.

I think it’s awful on both genders.

Don't like the name, especially for a girl

No.Actually, I don't like it for anyone.

To each their own, I guess, but to me, it just evokes images of a blimp. Beyond that, I wouldn't call it trendy, just 'celebrity baby'.I'd prefer to be Leda, if I the band was my inspiration.

Its ugly on either gender, but especially girls.

What girl doesn't want to be named after an aircraft resembling a blimp?
More seriously, I associate zeppelin too much with the aircraft. It would be like calling a kid Airplane or Car.
