Knud Bielefeld at beliebte-vornamen.de has allowed behindthename.com to publish the top 20 German names since 1890. There are no official name statistics in Germany so Knud analyzes birth notifications and compiles them into ranked lists. You can see the lists here: https://www.behindthename.com/top/lists/germany

Interesting! Would be nice to see a longer list to see if they name there kids weird stuff but them dating back that far makes up for it.

I knew Germany had some naming laws, so I looked up a bit more about it:

Apparently things are somewhat lax in practice.
