Does anyone like Agnes? Or do you prefer other forms like Inez, Ines, Agnesa, Oanez, or the others on the site? Do you like Agatha more?

I don't like Agnes much - I prefer the Polish form, Agnieszka, though it isn't one of my favourite names, Inez, if pronounced EE-nehz, and Ines, which I love. I prefer both Agatha and Agata.

Agnes is my middle name and I love it as it’s a bit different from most middle names I’ve heard used for my generation (1980s). I would still use it even as a first name now as older names like Ethel, Connie, Olive and Rose are making a comeback. I don’t think many people would think it odd. The most they might think is that it’s honouring someone and where’s the harm in that.
