[Opinions] Oella
I saw this as a street name in a city I love, and I had to post about it. I think it would be a surprising modification to Ella and sounds very pretty. Very unusual, but it works for me! I’ve never liked Willa, but Oella really intrigued me. Opinions/experiences with this name?Oella Beatrix
Oella Catherine
Oella Frances
Oella Margaret

oh, Ella ...It just doesn't work very well. It reminds me of once when I was talking to a woman who had a daughter named Justina. The first time she said the name, I thought, genuinely, that she was saying "Just Tina" like her daughter's name was Tina and she was telling me, without having been asked, that it was "just Tina" and not short for anything.

Oh, Livia?I mean... that’s pretty obvious!

not the same ...Because the o in Olivia is not emphasized the way the o in Oella is. And Olivia is already very familiar as a name, while Oella isn't.

Is it supposed to be pronounced like "o-(w)ELL-ah"? It would be really difficult for me to not pronounce it "WELL-ah"... like how Ouida is pronounced "WEE-dah"...It's interesting. I wonder what the origins are.

It sounds eggy to me, for some reason. Like Oella's Eggy Omelettes or Oella's Birth Control Pills.
