The ones that immediately come to mind are Melanie or Melissa. More outside the box: Melody, Melodia, Carmella, Melisandre, Melina, Pamela

It could work for Pamela. More usual as a nn for Melinda, Melanie or Melisande. Or, if mum or dad is a hipster confectioner, for Caramel. Which, if you ignore the actual meaning, sounds more like a name than many real names. Caramel could be Cara if she didn't like Mel ... I think we're on to something!
