I like it a lot, and yes, I do prefer it to Andrew. It sounds ancient and modern alike, with a cosmopolitan air. My only issue would be the pronunciation - is the middle syllable DREH, or DRAY, DREE, or something else?

I love it and it’s on my list. It’s handsome and interesting. It doesn’t hurt that I’ve only ever seen Andreas used once and it was in a book I was reading. I like Andrew too but what Andreas has going for it is a lack of popularity in the USA.

It was a common name for boys born in my generation where I'm living. I'm working with one and went to school with multiple Andreas's.
I'm pretty neutral about the name. I dislike Adde though, which is a common nickname.

I do prefer it to Andrew; I perceive it as a German rather than a Latin form because that's how it comes across where I live. There are no stats to back this up, but I'd guess that the most popular form here is either Andrew or Andre, and then Andreas.
