I love Guinevere! A truly gorgeous and unusual name, and I personally enjoy Gwen and Evie as nns.

I really like it, mainly as a middle name because it's long. I don't think Gwen is a good nn for it though, I prefer Gwen for Gwendolen and Guin for Guinevere. Part of the appeal of Guinevere is that it looks so much lighter than the "Gw" names (including Gwenhwyfar (sp?) and other forms).

As a whole, I like it very much. However, I'm not a fan of Gwyn or Gwen. If it absolutely has to be shortened, I'd prefer Neve or Vera.

Guinevere is gorgeous. The similar Genevieve and Gwendolyn are more popular / familiar, but I don't think Guinevere would stand out in a bad way.

I met a teenager named it (no nickname) in the 00s, and mainly it seemed awkward...like, Bedivere is cool, too, but awkward...though to be fair, when I was a kid, my family had a horse Guinevere, so that might have been my hangup. Maybe I just needed to get used to it...but maybe not, because being fantastical would be part of its appeal.

Gwen is warm and one of my all-time favorite names, and I think the *vere sound is majestic, so Guinevere "Gwen" is lovely.
