A nice poetic form that doesn't make a nice name.

It's a bit of a guilty pleasure (though I'm loath to qualify name-love as "guilty pleasure"), since I'm an aspiring poet and long-time poetry enthusiast. If, for some reason, I were forced to use a word name for a baby, I'd consider Sonnet.

I'd love to name a female Scottish terrier Sonnet, on the assumption that she'd be a Dark Lady. Not particularly human, though. Same problem as Allegra: such very specific meanings, which very few people actually measure up to.

I've met one; she was born in the early 1980s.

It's not a word name that I liked immediately upon hearing; it seemed cold and awkward to me for a while. Sonnets are kinda rigid.
Now that I've gotten used to it, it's okay, like a blend of Sonya and Lyric - tbh I don't love Lyric either (feels affected and leery), but I do like Sonya.
