Roger reminds me of a mutt (dog). I also think it’s a (very) old man’s name.

I chose the name Roger to be my husband in The Sims. I chose this name for a few reasons;1. I've never met a Roger and I'm unlikely to meet a Roger so it does not feel weird naming my sim-husband Roger2. I don't plan on naming my child Roger so its not weird that way3. Roger is a generally inoffensive name, and one that I can see being on a mild-mannered, kind man who is a little goofy without being overbearing, but also intelligent and talented. He's got a name that is versatile; artist, law enforcement, business owner etc3.5. This association may be in-part to do with Roger from 101 Dalmatians, but I also attribute the name heavily with the 1940s/1950s and such sentimentalises (including the fact that I see Roger as a child during WWII and grew up with those experiences). I also grew up with The Saint (British TV series) about a man who is basically Robin Hood but a spy in the 60s. He was played by Roger Moore (who is more known for James Bond, but I'm not a Bond fan)For some reason, Roger Rabbit does not immediately spring to mind DESPITE how much I love that film (maybe he's not a Roger to me???)4. With all of the above, Roger is such a mouldable name that I can see him be literally anything, but continue to be a kind personIn short:I'd be happy to marry a Roger, but I wouldn't use it for a child

It isn't a bad or annoying name, but it just has a comical, goofy vibe to it. It just sounds funny. Like I'd pick it for a slightly goofy character, but not a character who was cartoonishly goofy, just ordinary goofy.
