Dylan went to college with Iris' brother, Andy. After graduation, he and Andy were roommates while they went to grad school and got their PT degrees. By then, Iris was a junior in college, and she and Dylan started dating. Now, a year and a half later, the two of them are celebrating their honeymoon in San Maarten!

Dylan and Iris were married for four months when Iris found out she was pregnant. Their daughter, Gracie, was born seven and a half months later. Dylan and Iris were really hoping to pay off some more school loans before adding children to their family; however, they are enamored with baby Gracie.

This year, Dylan took up rock climbing. It was something Iris and Andy grew up doing, and Dylan finally decided to join in--he doesn't like heights, but is learning to conquer his fears. He is enjoying the rock climbing more than he thought, and Iris is delighted her husband is joining her in one of her favorite activities. Baby Gracie is growing quickly, and started walking about a month ago. Iris is busy chasing her around now.
Year 3: Family Event; move to new city

Dylan and Iris moved this year, when Dylan got a new job in Delaware. Iris can take pictures anywhere and, really, she hasn't been doing nearly as much photography since having Gracie. Most of Iris' days are full of chasing Cheerios, taking Gracie to the park, and teaching Gracie her colors and shapes!
Year 4: Family Event; Family Reunion

Dylan and Iris took Gracie back to Connecticut with them for a family reunion with Dylan's side of the family. They spent a week there and spent time with Iris' family as well. Gracie was also able to meet her baby cousin, Joey, for the first time. The two of them got along wonderfully!

Gracie started preschool this year, and has been having some trouble with being away from Iris for any length of time. She cries and clings to Iris each day. Its only the beginning of the year, so Dylan and Iris are hoping she will soon get used to being away from Iris for a portion of most days.

Two days before Gracie's fifth birthday, her sister Patience was born. Gracie adores baby Tia and spends a lot of time rocking her and playing with her. Gracie has gotten used to being away at school, but isn't going to Kindergarten until next year, so she's only gone for three mornings a week. Gracie has made a friend at preschool this year--a little girl named Emily.

This has been a big year in the Holland household! Gracie started Kindergarten this year and, after an initial adjustment period, she has been doing well. She loves her teacher, and her little friend Emily is in her class, which Gracie absolutely loves! Tia was a few months old when Dylan and Iris found out she was pregnant--baby Mercy joined the family when Tia was fourteen months old. Baby Mercy is a quiet, sweet little baby who is very tolerant of Gracie and Tia's shenanigans. In addition, Dylan and Iris got a dog this year--a lovely Goldendoodle named Rexy. They got Rexy from one of Dylan's coworkers who couldn't take her into his new apartment.
