Emerson- male! It’s new to my ears. I’m American. No idea if it has history, but -son I think male.
Emery nick name-eh :( first impression is female, probably because it’s similar to Emily and has the -ee -ie -y ending I associate with (most) female names.
Careful...at least in America all -son endings can turn female! Lol. Odd trend but it is what it is.
