Boring, but inoffensive. I prefer Robbie as a nickname, as opposed to Bobby.

I prefer the diminutive Robin. However, I think Robert is better as a middle name.

I don't like the "bert" ending, so I'm not a big fan. But I like the "Rob" beginning, so I can halfway see it with nickname Rob.

I usually like tried-and-true timeless boys’ names, but I can’t like this one. It’s another one of those names that feels stuck in the back of my throat.

I think it's boring, but I like the NN Rob.

It's a family name going back generations, and I'd be happy to use it ... but only as a mn. There have just been too many Roberts and for too long. I would use Robin instead, as one of my uncles did for his son.
