Josh and Rachel have been married for two months now. They just moved to Chile, where Rachel has a position as a science teacher at a local high school. Josh has experience in construction, and found a job as a day laborer, but is trying to get a job as an electrician, something he has experience in. Rachel speaks Spanish fluently, and has been to Chile several times, even taking some college courses there. Josh, on the other hand, does not speak any Spanish--though Rachel is teaching him (and he's picking up some rudimentary skills on the job).

Six weeks after their arrival in Chile, Rachel found out she was pregnant. Though Josh wanted to return to the US so Rachel could have the baby; however, Rachel was confident that the local Chilean system would be sufficient. Against Josh's objections, they stayed in Chile, and eight months later, Josh and Rachel welcomed baby Emily into their family! Everything went smoothly, much to Josh's relief.

Josh is pushing for a return to the US, but Rachel, though shaken, isn't quite ready to throw in the towel yet. Neither one was hurt, but Rachel always takes Josh with her to the market now.
