Oh man, I don't think I can put it into adequate words how much I truly despise this name. Sorry to be so direct about it but it's honestly one of the ugliest, harshest sounding names I've ever came across. I cringe everytime I hear it and I think it's even worse on a boy, which is why I'm glad it seems to be at least slipping from the charts on that side.
Its popularity still baffles me. There's literally hundreds of better names to choose from.

I don't like it

I like it!I don't think I'd ever use it, but if it's the only name that could be agreed on, then I'd 100% be fine with using it. It's lovely. I personally don't have any combos for it, so out of yours I like Harper Juliet & Harper Evangeline.

I’ve always liked it because of Harper Lee and it was a childhood friend’s last name that I liked the sound of. I can definitely see why it’s so popular but that’s also kind of a turn off now. I like your mn suggestions...it pairs well with so many names!

Even Harper Lee wasn't called Harper!

Yeah, I’m aware...but that’s the name that the public knew her by. Whether it was her birth name or not LOL

But she is now. :-/I'd prefer Nelle.

I was never a fan of Harper, but in this case, the popularity of this name made me appreciate it. I like how it sticks out among those soft-sounding classic names that are in the Top 10 now.
Not sure it goes with literary names like Ophelia, Guinevere or Juliet, though.
I love Harper Julia and like Harper Gabrielle.
I think simply Harper Gwen would work better than Harper Gwendolyn, but it could change if Gwendolyn becomes more mainstream.

I hate it. I've heard kids being called it, and that didn't help, which is rare. It sounds inhuman, like a corporation or a screechy mythical monster.I can't even like it next to Gwendolyn, and I love Gwendolyn.

They weren’t just screechy. The harpies in mythology were tasked with defecating on an old man’s food every time he tried to eat because he made a god angry. They were awful on every possible level. Harper is an awful name, sorry.

Well, I did say it sounds like a monster. It'd seem better if I could connect it with music, but I can't. Someone who plays the harp is a harpist, to me. Someone who harps is a harper (aka nag or harpy).

Am I literally the only person who likes this name? lol

Nope.

I love it on a boy, but can't stand it on a girl.

I actually love it on both genders! I like it moreso on a girl. I was worried like Monroe and Ellison being used on girls, If I named my son Harper, it would be cruel.

I really don't think Harper on a boy is cruel, it is also used fairly frequently for boys in Australia. Actually most of the boy Harpers I know are older than the girls, but I know two little ones.

I agree with Martha and Cake. I like all your middle names except for Evangeline (Harper Evangeline sounds to me like - harping evangelism).
I'm sort of neurotic about word-sounds formed in combos, so I might be allergic to Harper combined with G, J, and S middles (purg[atory], purge, purse). But it's not really noticeable with the hard G, and Harper Gabrielle is a bright combo. So's H. Gwendolyn. Harper Ophelia is neat too.

To be honest, I think it's horrible. It came out of nowhere and all the sudden it's the new Madison. If Harper has to be used, I'd prefer it in the middle, something like Elizabeth Harper and go by Harper.

It's horrid. Reminds me of this meaning of the word "harp": to dwell on or recur to a subject tiresomely or monotonously —usually used with on. Also "harpy". It's ugly. I am done.

Ditto.

I have never hated Harper. I think it's soft and sweet, and that it strikes that perfect unisex balance, without being obnoxious.Harper Julia is adorable.
