[Opinions] Lois vs. Susan
Given the two choices, would you choose Lois or Susan for a daughter? What would be her middle name? I like when one’s top choice is posted in the subject line, as many of you know.I love both names and think they will peak again soon.Sparrow

Suzan IrisYes, Suzan with a Z. If you don't like that, sue me ... hah.
I just don't really like the way the Sus part looks, and I say it with a Z sound.I don't like Lois nearly as much as Susan. I think it seems sort of harsh.

LoisLois. Susan is a name I’m very neutral on. Lois, I find more interesting and strong. I think the name would be Lois Athena og Lois Edith.

SusanSusan is dated but has some charm and pluckiness. Lois is just dated. Like a mid-century modern house vs. a split level. In real life I would go with Susan Margaret (an honoring name), but in my head I'd pair it with something more exotic and exciting. Maybe Susan Esmeralda.

Susan ...It already peaked, fifty or so years ago. It's got a way to go yet.
Lois is just ugly. Lowest.Susan Maria

Susan. I love the way it makes my mouth feel to say it, like I’ve eaten something sweet. It’s soft but grounded. Plus it has some cute nicknames like Susie and Sukie. Lois sounds like “lowest”, it doesn’t have any good nicknames that I can think of, and when I say it, it’s one of those ugly back-of-the-throat names, like I’m going to gag. I do like Louise, which is similar, because the soft, smiley ending redeems that one.

Susan is a wonderful cat name. I’d like to name a cat Geraldine, sometime.
