[Opinions] Townes, Waylon, Astrud
Some friends of ours, due in september, have chosen the name Townes Waylon for their son. Townes is after musician Townes van Zandt. Waylon is after musician Waylon Jennings. If it was a girl, they'd been considering Astrud for the singer Astrud Gilberto.Obviously the want something different and music is very important to them. I'm liking Townes personally. It's cute. Different.

Waylon is nice. Astrud could be subject to much teasing (think, rhymes with dud). Townes is ok and might work well with a flexible middle initial. What about focusing on a musical source, rather than personalities? Not a musician, so no suggestions. Aria?

Personally, I'm not fond of Townes, but hey, to each their own. I know people who can't stand the idea of naming a girl Lydian! ;o) Waylon is cool & edgy, and Astrud is also refreshing. :o) I just think 2 musical references in a name is too much, you know? But then, again, not everyone will "get" it. :o)

I have a friend named Waylon, after Waylon Jennings. He's around 30 now. I love his name and at this stage he's the only one I've met. We call he Willy for short sometimes. Townes is interesting, but I'd prefer to see Waylon Townes than Townes Waylon.

I like Townes Waylon. We are thinking of using Waylon as a mn if our next is a boy.

Townes Waylon is good. Astrud is not so good.
