My stepbrother is named after a piece of furniture. Not on his birth certificate, but as a nickname (a true nickname, one that is not based at all upon the true name) and it's what he is called.
My stepmother's first husband wanted a Harry III, and my stepmother agreed, but she didn't like the name Harry and was determined to find a nickname. One day she walked into whatever room in her house, her eyes alighted on her hutch, and she decided that's what he would be called.
I always thought that was dumb. It's dumb to name a person after an inanimate object.
So what do you think of Mascara?
