The only syllable I like, out of the lot of them, is Gail.
Abby = Abbie = abbey = ecclesiastical building. And I don't enjoy the way the first and last syllables both get stress on them.
Amelia, like some versions of Megan, gets a very self-centred vibe from that ME-E-E which is impossible to overlook. Plus, it's very close to Emily, which is one of my all-time favourites, and I can't forgive it for being so close but so very wrong.
